reychop's 10 Language Rules

It is in human nature to practice language. It is the essence of human communication and thus, an important aspect of our daily lives. However, language should be respected in its own. It is not merely a tool but an entity that makes up human communication and life. Not only that, but it is a powerful element that has saved lives, entertained great men, changed history and many more. So it is only rightful that we develop guidelines in correct language usage. This set of rules may refer largely to the English language. But they can be integrated and applied to any language.

1. When using a language, make sure that you have excellent knowledge of the structures that make up the language. Master the grammar, rules and make-up of the language.

2. Master the spelling.

3. Correct word usage, is in need. Do not replace "your with you're", "two with too" or "go with goo".

4. Pronunciation should be excellent. Do not pronounce there as "der", their as there, or broad as road.

5. Be consistent with the tenses. If you are speaking in past tense, always use past tense except when the situation calls for it, such as quoting someone.

6. When in doubt, always take the meaning from a dictionary. Do not guess, nor make up definitions which came from your assumptions.

7. When it comes to word usage, always be objective.

8. Correct intonation should be use.

9. Study the stresses and place it in appropriate places.

10. If not yet mastered, do not use the language in day to day discussion. Rather, practice it with a buddy or a close friend.
